The kingdom of God is among you
It can be much easier to look forward to a date, to a specific timeframe, instead of living out each day looking for the kingdom of God right in front of our eyes. Because what is often right in front of us can be painful. We live in a world broken by sin and suffering, and we live lives broken by illness, violence, poverty, racism. How can it then be that the kingdom of God is among us? What might we see when we look for the kingdom? We see women and men caring for the broken-hearted, wiping away tears, standing with those who are marginalised and helping them find their voice. We see people caring for our earth, people speaking truth to power, people working to build peace. Here is the kingdom.
