About Today Readings

St Callistus

Romans 3:21-30. With the Lord there is mercy, and fullness of redemption – Psalm 129(130):1-6. Luke 11:47-54.

Lord, you are my strength

Sometimes it feels like the world is against me. There seems to be no one to offer comfort, no one to call, no one who would understand. I feel isolated, alone, with only my own strength to rely on. But in prayer, I call out to God and say, ‘Strengthen me. I feel so isolated and alone.’ Then, I remember the scriptures, and the times you were forsaken and betrayed. I know I’m not alone. You are with me. You are my strength. And, I think if You are with me, then I need to be there for You. Although I am small and meek, God, I am with You.

Lord, may I remember in the toughest times that you are with me. May I not get so wrapped up in my own troubles that I forget that you are my focus and remain with and in you.
