Know you more clearly

Veils obscure our vision. They deny us clarity, darkening and softening the sights around us. We are left to grope our way in dim light – disoriented and lost. Once the veil is lifted all is clear and we are free to appreciate our surroundings in their brightness. Today’s first reading asks us to lift the veils that obscure us from the Good News. We are to be shining lights of the message of Christ Jesus. That is, we are to preach by word and deed the love of God. We are to be good neighbours, to feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, look after the sick, clothe the needy and visit the imprisoned. The message couldn’t be any clearer.
