God is there for everyone

Today, Paul reminds us that God does not judge us on our background. Instead, God looks at our faith and how our faith means that we follow God’s law. I have a friend who, due to a horrific childhood, constantly feels unworthy of the love of other people. She has so much love to give and she shows this love for others constantly. We tell her that she is special to us, and she says, ‘I know that, but I don’t believe it’. The amazing thing is that she has no doubt that Jesus loves her. She talks often of how her faith has helped her through tough times. To me, this is God slowly leading her towards self-love. Her childhood means that it will be a slow process, but God has time and endless love. God does not abandon anyone, let alone such a person as her.
