Holy Thursday
Exodus 12:1-8, 11-14. Our blessing-cup is a communion with the blood of Christ – Ps 115(116):12-13, 15-18. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26. John 13:1-15.
Obedience to commandments
‘If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that, as I have done for you, you should also do the same.’ (John 13:14)
In today’s Gospel, Jesus showed us the way to the Father. It is through humility, meekness and obedience. No matter if we are the master or servant or the teacher or student, we are not to promote ourselves and strive for greatness, but just as Jesus did, we are to work for humility and meekness through obedience to his commandments. May I always be a servant, so that I may follow you and do not stray from your path.
Lord, help me to pursue humility every day, so that I may become more like you, pleasing our heavenly Father.
