Invite everyone you can to the wedding

The parable of the King’s Son’s wedding tells an unusual story. All those who received an invitation not only refused to attend but abused the messengers.

The King was angry but did not give up and so sent out more invitations. The guests who did accept, are of all types, the good and bad alike. Yet, every one of them came appropriately dressed except for the one who appears to have no respect for either the King or himself. What separates the first invited guests from the second? Both groups were the recipients of the King’s favour, as was the guest not wearing a wedding garment! Lord, you are always looking out for us and inviting us to fill the place that you have set for us. Let us pray and work for the good of others so that there may be no gaps at your wedding banquet, and that we too may be there.
