How do we experience Jesus in our lives?

Herod’s curiosity is aroused by the stories he has heard concerning Jesus. It must have been an extraordinary experience for him to finally come face to face with Him. It is not surprising that he was confused. The thought that Jesus could be John the Baptist whom he’d had beheaded added to his confusion. The Gospel story today highlights an important point for us to understand – ie, the difference of knowing someone by hearsay rather than knowing them personally. Perhaps we need to ask ourselves who we believe Jesus is, and how we experience him in our lives. This is an important question in a world that seems to have little time for God and the things of God. Striving to reach a deeper understanding of how we experience Jesus will help us to strengthen our relationship with Him. It may also show aspects of our relationship with Him that need to be improved.
