In a little while you will see me again
Amy: I don’t get it. You came into your disciples’ lives, leave them, come back for a few days, and then off again. That’s how business hotshots treat one another, Jesus, not friends.
Jesus: Really, Amy? Friends often have to part. And even when they are together there can be distances between them. It’s through hanging in in times of absence that friendships grow. And there is great joy in really coming together later. Haven’t you found that?
Amy: I suppose so, but I don’t go away to make it happen. And when someone dies, Jesus, it’s different. Even if you hold in your heart someone who has died, your sadness never leaves you. You keep longing.
Jesus: But what if you know he is really with you, Amy, and you will see him soon?
Amy: Sure, but two thousand years isn’t soon, is it. Come quickly!
