Hebrews 10:19-25. Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face – Psalm 23(24):1-6. Mark 4:21-25.
Lord, may our love for you burn bright
He said to them, ‘Is a lamp brought in to be placed under a bushel basket or under a bed, and not to be placed on a lampstand?’ (Mark 4:21-22).
It can be tempting to ‘go along to get along’. We all want to be liked. We all want to be seen as ‘good people’ – to be given a stamp of approval for holding the correct opinions and beliefs. But are we sacrificing our faith in Jesus to get the world’s approval?
Is our light dimming so that we may be socially acceptable to the world? Are we becoming lukewarm so as not to ruffle any feathers?
Lord, may we not hide our faith in you so that others may accept us. But may we bravely reveal our faith so that our love for you may burn bright, revealing to others your truth.
