Romans 8:31-39. Save me, O Lord, in your kindness – Ps 108(109):21-22, 26-27, 30-31. Luke 13:31-35.
Christ walks with us
Being a Christian is a constant commitment to trusting God. The words of St Paul echo a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness to us in every season: ‘neither death nor life, no angel, no prince, nothing that exists, nothing still to come . . . can ever come between us and the love of God.’ What a promise. What a strong hold we can take with us into the most precarious of situations. Paul’s words are a reverberating song which extols the stability of God in all times and places. In every season, we are reminded that the gift of Christ’s life advocates for our own life. God desires a life in abundance for us all. Do we truly value the nearness of Christ? He is the truth who walks with us in the hallways of our lives.
