A deeper understanding of God
As so often happens in the Gospel, the people that Jesus is talking to, just don’t get it. When we don’t understand something, it can be easy to react with anger and blame. I think that the church as a whole can suffer from this just as much as individuals. When someone challenges our world view, it can be easy to just close off from them and what they are saying. True growth doesn’t happen unless we can allow ourselves to listen to differing views and ideas. Even if we still don’t agree with what is being said, listening and trying to understand another way of seeing the world can bring us to a deeper understanding of our God, our faith and our world.
