Be open to change
The reading today is challenging. Contemplate it on a personal level. We are all Pharisees. Our human nature and our society encourage us to present a tailored image. Our exterior is a veneer used to hide our flaws. The truth is that its transparent, opaque at best. Our dirtiness and our sin are not hidden at all. We fool only ourselves.
So today, consider the Gospel on a personal level and be open to change. Sharing your weakness and brokenness, embracing the truth and shedding all that holds you back and limits your wholeness is life giving. Strip away all that hinders your relationship with God. Have faith.
