About Today Readings

Triumph of the Cross

Numbers 21:4-9. Do not forget the works of the Lord! – Psalm 77(78):1-2, 34-38. Philippians 2:6-11. John 3:13-17.

God sent his Son so that through him the world might be saved

A humbling thought that God chose to be born a poor baby to die for me. Me. And you. Someone like me that struggles out of bed in the morning. Someone that sneaks an extra cookie. Someone that falls asleep saying their prayers. And, all I have to do is have faith. A little faith seems to go a long way with God. He gives so much for rather little on my part. Like God, chose to die for me, each day I have to choose. Choose to follow His Word. Choose to love when it seems easier to resent. Choose to forgive when it’s easier to ruminate over past harms. Choose Him, as He chose me.

Heavenly Father, may I never forget the sacrifice you made for me. Remind me that in each moment I have a choice. Give me the strength to choose You.
