Maybe you need to think of the signs God has given you
Rubio: Jesus, you shouldn’t have dumped on your disciples for not understanding you. You didn’t make it easy for them. They’ve had a hard day, hanging out to eat, only to discover they’ve brought just one stale roll. Then you tick them off, carry on about the leaven of the Pharisees, and ask them how many baskets of leftover bread they had collected after the feeding on previous days. Your explanations were like a mist chasing a fog.
Jesus: Fair call, Rubio. But remember, the Pharisees had just asked me for a sign from heaven. And my disciples were so hung up about going hungry that they forgot I had fed the crowds miraculously, and that the seven baskets were a sign of fullness and the twelve baskets symbolised the twelve tribes of Israel. They needed to spend a bit of time reflecting on the signs God had given them of his generosity. Maybe you need to think of the signs God has given you, too, Rubio?
Rubio: What signs has God given me, Jesus?
Jesus: You tell me.Email this Print This Page
