Keep our faith in God

When bad things happen, it can feel like God has forsaken you. There’s an erroneous saying that everything happens for a reason or that God only gives you what you can handle. While the world doesn’t particularly work that way, there is some justice. But that justice is not worldly; rather, it is meted out by God according to his will. All we can do is trust the Lord and focus on what we can control – our own behaviour, our choice to believe, our efforts to be loving, forgiving and thankful. In the end, God will be there for us, just as Jesus was there for the disciples when a storm set on their boat. However, how and where we see that support is possibly in a time and place of God’s choosing. In the meantime, we must keep our faith and trust that God will lead us justly.
