Treat others as you would like them to treat you
Today’s reading is challenging: ‘the road is hard, the gate is narrow and few find it’. However, it offers a great truth, to enter the narrow gate you need to desire what it offers and accept the cost required to achieve it. Each day we make choices about how we will encounter others and God. We make decisions about what is important and what we will prioritise. Only we can determine whether we will live up to our calling or whether we will float along and generally live a good life. The reading is a wake-up call; don’t be complacent. What do you need to do today to ensure you are on the narrow path? How can you love others in a way that is worthy of the love you have been offered? What will you give your time and attention to today? Let us pray that we make the decisions and pay the price required to find and open that narrow gate today and every day.
