The Conversion of St Paul

Acts 22:3-16, Go out to all the world, and tell the Good News – Psalm 116(117). Mark 16:15-18.

St Paul’s conversion

We might be a little uncomfortable with some of the signs Jesus proclaims will be indicative of believers. We are no less called as disciples to go out and proclaim the Good News. Over the previous two years, as movement has been difficult in many places, we have been reminded of how this proclamation can occur in quiet, gentle conversation. Maybe we have seen religious celebration online and been reminded of the great diversity of ways of proclaiming the Good News throughout the universal Church.

Whatever way we do it, St Paul’s conversion gives us a clue as to what we are to proclaim. It is not something abstract, nor is it a detailed program for adoption. Rather, it is to proclaim a relationship with the one who comes and says, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene’. We proclaim the Good News by testifying to that relationship in our lives.
