Treat others as you would have them treat you

When Jesus speaks the truth – it lands firmly, with no wriggle room. I find this refreshing in a world where confusion, mixed interpretation and judgment, although destabilising, are the norm. We cannot throw our pearls of love, service and justice into a world without Jesus and expect them to flourish. So, what do we do? We find the narrow gate, the gate that has no room for ego or worldly attachments, and we walk through it with humility and sincerity. We know the path won’t be easy, and we will go back and forth through that gate all our lives; but one thing we can be sure of is that once we are through the gate, even though the path won’t be easy, the way forward will be clear. Dear Jesus, please stretch out your hand and help us through this gate. Bless us with the inner strength to not look behind at what we have given up but to keep our focus on you, the centre of all our longing and desire.
