God cares
Patience: Your message is pretty gloomy, Jesus, just like our disaster movies. Was it really helpful to terrify people, especially when they are so inspired by finding God’s presence in the beauty of the temple?
Jesus: It is important to face reality, Patience. In our world the eventual destruction of the temple was always likely. We must surely look unpleasant reality in the face and not panic. That was my message – that our Father will be with us even in the hardest times we can imagine. And my followers often face hard times indeed.
Patience: In our age, Jesus, we have wars and weapons that can destroy the world, and people who don’t care if we let it burn. What is your message to us?
Jesus: Be realistic. And remember that God cares deeply for the suffering and for you.
