He taught with authority.
Reflecting on his experience during a retreat journey, a man noted that he was now much more aware of what it meant to take the word of God to others.
He realised it was about meeting others where they were and responding with sensitivity to their concerns, hopes or dreams. His own experience of the attentive, sustaining and guiding love of God in his life would enable him to respond with warmth and compassion. Jesus, all your interactions, all your words and actions, flowed out of your deep abiding love for the Father.
When you spoke, it was not about dry concepts and laws, it was about living in relationship with the beloved Father and with all his children. This made all the difference.
Jesus, let my words and actions be enlivened by that same love.
