About Today Readings

Colossians 1:1-8. I trust in the kindness of God for ever – Psalm 51(52):10-11. Luke 4:38-44.

Pray you notice the ways in which God shows you kindness

On this first day of spring, there are so many signs in life that remind us to give thanks. In my every day life, sometimes I forget to look and to trust in the kindness of God. Today in the Gospel, Jesus isn’t wanting to his work of healing to be highlighted. He is reaching out to a woman in her need. Her response was immediate. She served him in return for his kindness. Paul in the first reading reminds us to give thanks for the love and faith that spring from hope. Today, pray that you can notice the ways in which God is showing you kindness – in the gesture of a friend, in the phone call from a family member, in the peace you feel after a time of prayer, the budding forth of the blossoms around you.
