Songs of reassurance and hope
There is a symphony of songs in the readings today revealing calm reassurance and hope. The stars in the sky called by name, strength is renewed and young people put their wings out like eagles when they hope in the Lord. Then the Lord is compassionate and loving, slow to anger and rich in mercy. And then if we are overburdened Jesus will give us rest!
I encourage you to read the readings of the day – they provided me with solace, and calm settled on my heart. (They could be good to bring down high blood pressure!) A feeling of joy too as the song that immediately came into my head was Matt Redman’s ‘10,000 Reasons’ – Bless the Lord oh my Soul.
