Ss Pontian and Hippolytus
Deuteronomy 34:1-12. Blessed be God who filled my soul with life! – Ps 65(66):1-3, 5, 16-17. Matthew 18:15-20.
God is present in everyday moments
God’s presence is not limited to the confines of church or large gatherings of the faithful. He is also present in the everyday moments, especially in relationships marked by love and forgiveness. To restore a broken relationship, St John Chrysostom said we need to ‘forgive not merely with the lips, but from the heart’. This costs us our pride, patience and willingness to listen. Yet, when we come together in his name, even in difficult conversations, Jesus stands among us as the true source of peace. In a world divided by resentment and misunderstanding, we are called to be people of healing. Whether in our families, workplaces or faith communities, Christ is present when we gather with love and truth. Where do you need to invite him into your relationships today?
