The spirit of life and love
The Gospel today tells us that ‘he who believes in me will never thirst’. When we look at thirst in the literal way, then Jesus knows that we may become dehydrated in our spiritual lives too. Jesus reminds us to stay close to him – the fountain of life. During times of sickness, if someone says to me they have a headache, the first thing I ask is ‘Are you drinking enough water?’. It’s one of the most important aspects of our health. Not only our physical health, but spiritual nourishment too. Are we keeping ourselves hydrated by the spirit of life and love? ‘For whoever comes to me, shall not be turned away’.
