Joel 2:12-18. Be merciful, O Lord, for we have sinned – Psalm 50(51):3-6, 12-14, 17. 2 Corinthians 5:20 – 6:2. Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18.
We are fortunate to have a loving, forgiving God
Come back to me with all your heart. How extraordinary is it to be forgiven! To acknowledge a wrongdoing and heal a relationship. In my household with teenagers, this is a frequent occurrence between adult and teen as we work out together what actions and responses are right and just. We don’t hold on to bitterness or sadness, we resolve, forgive and move on. If only the community we live in wasn’t so fearful of ‘owning’ up, instead we see leaders try to shift blame and responsibility around. We are always going to err and we are so fortunate to have a loving, forgiving God, who liberates us in taking responsibility for what harms our community and relationships, and gives us the heart to make amends.Email this Print This Page
