About Today Readings

Isaiah 10:5-7, 13-16. The Lord will not abandon his people – Psalm 93(94):5-10, 14-15. Matthew 11:25-27.

How are we asked to become like children?

I wonder why, in such a short Gospel passage, the word Father is mentioned five times. In the words of Matthew, we hear that touching image of a loving relationship. A relationship can only be developed when quality time is spent with the other. The clue is given when Jesus is prompting us to become like ‘little children’, especially when looking for answers. We have a clue on how we need to be in relationship – to become like little children. Little children become engrossed in what is before them, they are curious, and have a great sense of wonder. How are we being asked to become like little children today? What are we going to be curious about? Ask the Father to lead you to see how you may become more like a little child today, so that you may know that our Father does not abandon us.
