All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God – Psalm 97(98):1-4.
‘Who are you?’
We all have identity crises from time to time. ‘Who am I?’ we may ask. ‘What is my purpose in life? Am I doing what God wants me to do?’ When John the Baptist faced these questions, he found it easier to say who he was not. Not the Messiah, not Elijah, not the Prophet. Rather than focusing on himself he answered in a way that pointed to Jesus. He was the voice of one crying out in the desert preparing a way for the Lord.
Like John we need a similar outlook. Lord, when people come into contact with me, may they meet you as well.
