To love and serve the Lord
‘And demons also came out from many, shouting, “You are the Son of God.” But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak because they knew that he was the Messiah’ (Luke 4:41).
In today’s Gospel, we hear how Jesus’ true identity is revealed. As he heals those who are ill and afflicted, demons begin to expose who he is. Although Jesus silences them, he does not let it deter him. He continues his work, saying, ‘To the other towns also I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God, because for this purpose I have been sent’.
Lord, help us remember that our true identity is in you and our purpose is to know you, to love you, and to serve you.
