Easter Wednesday
Acts 3:1-10. Let all who seek the Lord rejoice – Psalm 104(105):1-4, 6-9. Luke 24:13-35.
We had hoped that he was the Saviour
We had hoped Jesus was our saviour,
But then they killed him. We were off
Until a stranger wove the scriptures
To show that God was in this mess.
When sharing broken bread together
We saw that he was Jesus,
And, hope reborn, we ran back homewards
To be with our community.
In times when we are shocked by scandals
And mediocrity, remind us
That life does come through dying,
And in the breaking of the bread.
