About Today Readings

St John.

1 John 1:1-4. Psalm 96(97):1-2, 5-6, 11-12. John 20:2-8.

Let the just rejoice in the Lord—Psalm 96(97):1-2, 5-6, 11-12.

The other disciple went in and saw and he believed.

We are now in a season of great joy as we

celebrate the birth of our Saviour. St John never

lets us forget that the focal point of our life, the

key that gives us the clue to all the problems of

life, the goal of our earthly activity, are all found only in Jesus Christ.

John sums up his gospel thus: ‘These things have been written that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and believing,

you may have life in his name.’

Is my faith a living faith? I believe, Lord. Help

my unbelief.
