Give glory and eternal praise to him – Daniel 3:62-67
‘I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking’
Jesus makes us aware of the harsh reality of a life of faith. Our own faith can be a challenge to many who we meet and interact with. By the spirit with which we live our lives we can ‘afflict the comfortable’ even if we try to simply focus on the call to ‘comfort the afflicted’. Both these elements of a life of faith stem from our baptismal call to be prophets of the inbreaking kingdom of God.
The life of faith is a life of decisions. Deciding to spend time in prayer when we have been avoiding it for days. Deciding to discern God’s will when we come upon an important decision. Deciding to dispose ourselves to receive God’s love in our days. Deciding to offer practical love for our neighbour, our sick friend, the stranger in our midst. Deciding to respond to the invitations of the Holy Spirit.
