Community of faith lights the way
Jesus is the light of the world. I know light is important. It should be obvious that I need to stay in the light and keep darkness out of my life.
Have you ever been working on something in the late afternoon and got so absorbed in what you were doing that you didn’t realise that you were working in a dark room and starving for dinner? Just me then? The change happens so gradually that it’s hard to notice if your attention is on something else.
I know that I need God’s light in my life, but if I put all of my attention into other things, I don’t notice when I drift from God. Sometimes when I end up working in a dark room, someone in my family comes over and turns the light on. This is why our faith needs community. We help each other to find our way back to God.
