Daniel 3:14-20, 24-25, 28. Glory and praise for ever! – Daniel 3:52-56. John 8:31-42.
Give me faith so I may hear God’s message
‘If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and am here; I did not come on my own, but he sent me.’ (John 8:42).
A false sense of security arises when we know with certainty we are right and others are wrong. Clinging to what we know can make us feel safe, smarter, and even holier than others. Jesus encounters this with the authorities of his time. Refusing to listen, they misunderstand his message and, in doing so, fail to know and understand him. But, how do I act just like them? How do I miss encounters with Christ because I think I already know the truth?
Lord Jesus, may I hear your voice, accept your message and deeply know that the Father sent you. Give me the faith of your mother, Mary, so I may hear God’s message and obey.
