St Francis Xavier
Isaiah 25:6-10. I shall live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life – Ps 22(23). Matthew 15:29-37.
God provides
In today’s Gospel, Jesus feeds the hungry crowds with seven loaves and a few fish, a moment of abundance born from scarcity. For Francis Xavier, leaving behind the familiar to carry the Gospel to distant lands was his threshold moment. He trusted that God would provide for both body and soul. As the Jubilee closes, we are reminded that every threshold we cross in faith, however uncertain, opens us to God’s abundance.
Lord, give us courage to cross thresholds with faith and trust in your providence.
