Ephesians 6:1-9. The Lord is faithful in all his words – Psalm 144(145):10-14. Luke 13:22-30.
Let us embrace the challenge of Jesus’ words
‘Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few people be saved?” He answered them, ‘Strive to enter through the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough’ (Luke 13:24).
Often when the Gospel reading mentions anything negative, such as ‘wailing and grinding of teeth’, we may want to turn the page. However, we cannot discount Jesus’ words just because they don’t make us feel warm and fuzzy inside. Following the message of Gospel is meant to transform us into saints, not keep us stuck in our comfort zone.
Lord Jesus, allow us to ponder your words that challenge us, and not to discount them. Through listening to all of the Gospel, let us find and follow your narrow path.
