If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed
‘The truth will set you free’. Even with our loved ones, there are some aspects of our thinking and behaving that we do not like to show. Secrets and shame we are afraid to reveal. How could anyone knowing these make me feel free? And yet, is it not true that many people go to therapists, supervisors or priests with whom they can be entirely open about themselves? In that relationship of truth, where I can trust the other, truly I do find freedom. I become freed from slavery to such secrets, free to accept my identity as a beloved child of God.
