The Transfiguration of the Lord
Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14. The Lord is king, the most high over all the earth – Ps 96(97):1-2, 5-6, 9. 2 Peter 1:16-19. Luke 9:28-36.
Then Jesus was found alone
Up there he would pray all night –
we gave up and slept. We woke
to see the mist and Jesus, all
lit up, with Moses and Elijah.
What a gift to be with him
in all his glory. We could have stayed
forever in his company
where all was clear and full of life.
Then the light grew dim and Jesus
stood with us alone, and spoke
of coming trials and pain and death.
These God will save him from – surely?
