Acts 15:1-6. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord – Ps 121(122):1-5. John 15:1-8.
Images of Christ
The image of the vine in today’s Gospel readings speaks to the importance of agriculture in our society and still speaks to us today. I wonder, however, what other images of Christ we might come up with if we spent some time reflecting.
I’m a basketball fan. On a basketball court, it’s helpful to know where each person is going to be, so teams will design playbooks where each person has a role and patterns to follow. If players follow the playbook, they will succeed. If they don’t, things will fall apart. In a way, one might use the image of Jesus as the playbook, and ourselves as the players.
What other images of Christ can you think of?
