Pope’s Monthly Intention September 2020
Respect for the Planet’s Resources
We pray that the planet’s resources will not be plundered, but shared in a just and respectful manner.
Father of All Goodness,
You have created this world full of beauty
and entrusted it to your children to care for.
Help us to have a generous and open heart,
attentive to the needs of others
and willing to share what we have.
Send your Spirit upon those leaders who make decisions
on the production and consumption of goods,
so that the planet’s resources that you entrust to us
may be shared in a just and respectful manner, honoUring the dignity of all.
Good Father, I know You are with me.
Here I am on this new day.
Place my heart once more
next to the Heart of your Son Jesus,
who is giving himself for me and who comes to me in the Eucharist.
May your Holy Spirit make me Your friend and apostle,
available for your mission of compassion.
I place in Your hands my joys and hopes,
my works and sufferings, everything that I am and have,
in communion with my brothers and sisters of this Worldwide Prayer Network.
With Mary, I offer you my day for the mission of the Church
and for the prayer intentions of the Pope and my Bishop for this month.

- Take a moment for prayer, as a family or in your local community, praying that the goods of the earth be shared with justice and respect. Raise awareness on this issue. Read part of the encyclical Laudato Si.
- Examine your life and attitudes on this topic. Even small gestures and choices of daily life can build a more sustainable world.
