Acts 5:27-33. The Lord hears the cry of the poor – Ps 33(34):2, 9, 17-20. John 3:31-36.
Do we live generously?
He gives the Spirit without measure. The relationship between Jesus and the Father was one of deep trust and reciprocity. Out of love, God placed all things in Jesus’ hands. Out of love, Jesus spoke God’s words and testified to what had been seen and heard. And out of their relationship, the Spirit was poured out on all without measure, abundantly. Do we live this generously ourselves? Do we testify to seeing the Spirit pour out on others from the way we live out God’s love for us? Or do we sometimes lose sight of that love and narrow our gaze because of the struggles of daily living which can consume us? May we keep our eyes and ears open to the Spirit at work and may we live generously from all that God has given us.
